Our collaboration sees Indigenous Traditional Knowledge and UQ science working side by side to deliver outcomes with social, cultural and economic benefits set out by participating Indigenous communities.
We strongly protect Indigenous Traditional Knowledge and intellectual property rights in accordance with the Nagoya Protocol and Queensland’s Biodiscovery Act 2004.
How we work together
Indigenous project leaders and three Queensland Traditional Custodian communities work with UQ Science researchers to develop:
- plant-based bushfood
- landscape plants and products
- ornamental plants and products.
Participating Traditional Custodian communities choose which plants to explore and potentially develop further across five research areas.
