Three Minute Thesis competition
The Three Minute Thesis (3MT) is a research communication competition developed by UQ.
Participate in the competition to develop your academic, presentation and research communication skills.
You’ll learn how to effectively explain your research in three minutes using language appropriate to a non-specialist audience and get to know other HDR candidates and talk about your research.
Competition winners may go on to represent UQ at national and international 3MT competitions, which provide valuable networking and professional development opportunities.
School Researchers Society
The School Researchers Society is a researcher-focused, non-profit associated body of the UQU.
We’re here to support you through the various stages your HDR candidature, and aim to:
- promote agricultural and food science among UQ students

- strengthen the research and social support system for St Lucia research students
- unite School of Agriculture and Food Sustainability HDR candidates across UQ St Lucia and UQ Gatton campuses by sharing common activities with the UQ Agriculture Postgraduate Association.
