Every semester we employ casual academic staff to work within our School at both Gatton and St Lucia.

Academic support staff play a vital role in teaching and learning within the School of Agriculture and Food Sustainability (AGFS), assisting teaching staff in the delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

We welcome expressions of interest from research assistants, postdoctoral fellows, honours, postgraduate and Higher Degree Research students, and applicants who have previously taught in their field at a significant level who want to return to the workforce.

Casual Academic Hire and Payment (CAHP)

How does CAHP work?

In consultation with your course supervisor, the School allocates casual academic staff to teaching activities for the course you are employed in. This creates a teaching schedule for the whole semester.

Casual Academic staff are paid according to a pre-determined schedule of activities. A timesheet adjustment is only required if your scheduled activities change: for example, if you were unable to complete a teaching activity or if you completed a teaching activity additional to your schedule.
