Researcher biography

Dr Paul Melloy is a research fellow at UQ on a GRDC-funded project, collaborating with DPIRD, to assist in the development of plant disease models that can be used as decision support tools. Paul's current work is focused on, modeling the spread of ascochyta blight in chickpeas, reviewing effective management strategies for controlling net blotch in barley and engaging with agritech platforms to deliver a spatial model estimating blackspot risk in field peas at sub-field scales. Paul is assisting in the adoption of the disease decision support tools YellowSpotWM and StripeRustWM to improve farm profitability.
