Decarbonisation of Rice Cultivation for an Inclusive Transition to Carbon-neutral Agriculture among Smallholder Farmers in Indonesia

Iqbal's research explores pathways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from rice cultivation while supporting the livelihoods of smallholder farmers in Indonesia. By combining life cycle assessment, farmer adoption studies, and systems thinking approaches, the project identifies practical and inclusive strategies to accelerate the transition toward carbon-neutral agriculture. The findings aim to inform policymakers, researchers, and industry stakeholders in developing effective decarbonisation policies that contribute to climate change mitigation, food security, and sustainable agricultural development.
